Feed Calendaring and scheduling

Author Message

We might want to integrate with Google Calendars, although we already have some code that partially works.

See http://svn.xlsuite.org/trunk/app/controllers/admin/calendar_controller.rb for the full details.

Hang on to this Francois, Vince Hodges from Hirebrains.ca is still working on something for us and I am in discussions with him on getting this done.

Ultimately I think we need both for this really:
Google App’s integration is something that I’d love to see. While we’ve already hacked our way into google mail, it would be nice to be able to more tightly integrate with the calendar, docs and chat.
In the big picture, I don’t think forcing people to use gogle apps as the only solution we have for calendaring and document storing is really a feasible option (as omni present as google is, some people just don’t want to use them / or won’t pay the premium for the accounts.)
We should have our own basic calendar application for scheduling.
Not sure if Vince is going to be the one to crank it out or not, we haven’t heard from him in a bit as he’s been tied up on other (paying) gigs…
This should go on the list of “to do” items for sure.

A month later and we’ve been approved for the google apps partner program.

So now, we just need a SAML / SSO coder to help us configure the single sign on.

This is still an open task although we’ve come closer to integration with google apps.

We have the google SSO (single Sign On) happening, but now we need to tie in the calendar API so that people are linked to their calendar.

we should be able to see the upcoming tasks in the side bar

use the “quick entry” section to add items to our calendar

and of course open the main calendar in a center window and use it as usual

reminder function? should tie into messenger or email also really.
